About
Guido van Rossum is the creator of the Python programming language. He began working on Python in the late 1980s and released the first version in 1991. Often referred to as Python's "Benevolent Dictator For Life" (BDFL), Guido guided the language's development for nearly three decades before stepping down in 2018. He currently works at Microsoft, where he focuses on improving Python's performance. His vision of a simple, readable, and powerful programming language has made Python one of the most popular languages in the world, particularly in data science and AI.
